Job description:

THE ROLE

We are seeking an experienced Bid Specialist to join our Strategy & Growth team, working across all key sectors of the construction industry including civil, road and rail, bridges and structures, renewable energy, utilities, defence and other specialized business unit scope.

Reporting to the Head of Submissions, you will be responsible for developing and implementing effective bid strategies and win themes to secure new business opportunities. By analysing the client's issues, project's objectives, evaluation criteria and competitive propositions, you will coach the bid teams to develop a compelling and persuasive value proposition. Your expertise will be critical in securing major projects and driving the growth and success of our business.

This is a permanent full-time position, based in our Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane or Perth office with working from home flexibility.

• Facilitate strategic discussions focused on bid culture, values, risks, opportunities, and innovations and develop strategic messaging to craft compelling and persuasive proposals.
• Collaborate with subject matter experts and key stakeholders to gather necessary information to inform the Bid Strategy.
• Facilitation of storyboard sessions and working with SMEs to create content and act as a bid writer and reviewer when required.
• Ensure our submissions are tailored to meet client specifications and highlight the company's unique value propositions. Work with Proposal Managers to ensure the Bid Strategy and Win Themes are incorporated into the written submission.
• Act as an Interactive Manager overseeing the planning, development, and execution of interactive presentations which will involve managing the team, coordinating with clients and stakeholders, and ensuring that presentations and interactive content effectively engage the audience.
• Occasional intrastate and interstate travel may be required for client meetings, strategy sessions, and industry events.
• Mentor and guide other submission personnel including Proposal Managers, Bid Coordinators, Graphic Designers, Writers, consultants and subcontractors ensuring high performance and professional development.

Profile description:

ABOUT YOU

• Bachelor's Degree in a relevant discipline Marketing, Journalism, Business, Project Management etc, or appropriate industry experience. Other relevant certifications (e.g., APMP) highly regarded
• Proven track record of developing successful bid strategies and securing high-value contracts.
• Proven experience within a Pre-Contracts/Submissions environment, ideally within a Tier 1 organisation, this includes working as a Submission Manager, Bid Manager and/or Bid Writer
• Experience in preparing tenders for Design & Construction, Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) contracts, Public Private Partnership's (PPP), collaborative contracting and alliance contracts.
• Confidence with meeting/workshop facilitation.
• Relationship builder who can communicate at all levels.
