About the Role
Environmental Operations branch is responsible for the preservation, management and enhancement of council’s diverse range of environmental and recreational assets and in partnership with our community, the rich biodiversity of the region’s landscapes. The branch plays an active role within council, liaising with other units, as well as with the community to maintain and deliver high quality environmental outcomes.
The Branch Planning and Support Lead is responsible for providing leadership to a diverse, multi-disciplinary team to effectively coordinate and deliver business Planning and Support functions across the Branch with a focus on strategic planning, business improvement and day to day operational business and administrative support.
- Lead the delivery of efficient and effective business and administrative functions to support the Branch to meet its business objectives.
- Contribute to the development, implementation and monitoring of the Branch’s priorities and deliverables, including business Planning and reporting, stakeholder engagement and coordination.
- Identify and Support the implementation of innovative measures to respond to new trends and approaches related to the Branch business and service delivery.
- Support effective planning in communication and messaging for the Branch to ensure consistent, accurate and relevant information is provided to both internal staff and external customers.
About you
As a leader working with Planning and branch support, you will be enthusiastic about stakeholder engagement and contributing to a Branch that works closely with the community and the region.
You will possess substantial knowledge and experience in contemporary project management and business improvement practices, processes and principles to achieve branch objectives.
You will have demonstrated competence in working with internal and external stakeholders, undertaking project-based activities, setting priorities and managing competing deadlines including the ability to make decisions and think logically, creatively and laterally.
As a requirement of this role, you will possess formal qualification (degree) in business management, or other relevant disciplines and/or equivalent substantial workplace experience in leading business Planning and administration functions preferably in a large organisation.
