We are looking to engage the services of an experienced Business Analyst to work on an exciting project with our government client. Successful candidates will be offered a position as a result.
What to expect in this role
The Business Analyst role is central to navigating and simplifying the strategic and operational environment the project team work within. The role offers an amazing opportunity to work on the cutting edge of the team's learnings about the problem, putting you in perfect stead to influence the solution to these key challenges.
Here are some of the duties you will perform:
- Lead the team's stakeholder engagement activities, including liaising with Senior Executives, driving key engagement activities which need to occur and taking responsibility for the ongoing development and maintenance of the relationship with the client
- Undertake deep research in partnership with the client to understand and comprehend the problem space, and distil this into simple language that the team and client can absorb
- Map the value chain, business processes and user journey for both the current and future states, as well as overlaying the IT architecture and user stories where relevant
- Conducting client meetings, showcases and workshops, analysing research, and developing client-ready documents, including delivery of powerful, effective client presentations
- Building relationships with clients and external project teams to ensure the successful delivery of the engagement
- Undertake research and meetings to support evidence-based project planning and decision making
- Working in tight timeframes and producing high quality deliverables, including producing the projects client facing documents and reports on behalf of the team
- Equivalent of 6 years of relevant experience in Business Analysis role
- You have an active AGSVA security clearance
- Experience in the use of Agile techniques and tools (e.g. SAFe, Kanban) and working in multi-disciplinary teams
- Tertiary qualifications in a related field (e.g. Computer Science, Commerce, Business, Management) desirable
- Strategic thinker who can develop insights from a wide range of sources
- Ability to navigate and negotiate challenging environments
- Highly developed analytical skills, attention to detail, problem solving skills and ability to draw accurate, logical conclusions
- Strong consultative and interpersonal skills and the ability to cultivate relationships across a broad range of stakeholder groups
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, and ability to present complex, ambiguous ideas in plain and simple language to a broad range of stakeholder groups
- Be able to demonstrate knowledge and experience working within a complex environment
- Exceptional time management capability, and team prioritisation and delegation experience; including being a strong multitasker, with the ability to work under pressure
- High levels of self-motivation, energy and confident in working autonomously within the team
