About the team In this position of a Business Analyst, you will report into the Product Manager -Data. The primary objective of this role will include: Maintaining requirements, creating user stories and collating delivery estimates from all delivery teams Defining data flows from various data sources, possess good understanding of database design Creating and optimizing self-service dashboards / reports with wireframes or layouts, for web or mobile platforms Defining data mart or cubes to achieve data visualizations Good understanding of data driven technology stack -MicroStrategy, Power BI, Snowflake, Azure cloud platform, ETL, SQL, Mobile apps using BI tools Assisting with testing as required and acceptance criteria, Managing defects based on requirements traceability Key responsibilities The key responsibilities will include the following but not be limited to: Managing requirements: Capture and prioritize requirements in Confluence. Create user stories in JIRA. Backlog grooming with product owner / manager. Defining specifications: Wireframes for dashboards, report layouts for both web and mobile platform. Define data flows AS-IS and TO-BE and any process improvements. Comfortable with business process modeling. Defining acceptance criteria: assist with testing as required Providing estimates: Work with various technical skill groups to gather OOM and create work breakdown structure Non-functional requirements: Work on supportability, performance, security, data privacy Functional requirements: Work on user experience for web and mobile platform data visualization for BI tools, data enablement using data marts or cubes Facilitating workshops: Liaise with architects for feasibility of technical solution, stakeholders for understanding scope to define requirements, engineering manager/IT skill groups for gathering estimates etc. Data centric approach: Liaise with data architects for data quality improvements, and data remediation specifications Broad technical skills: Understanding data warehouse, visualization BI tools, cloud platform, web/mobile to know technical limitations while defining specifications. Comfortable working on new technologies. Project documentation: Maintain project artefacts in SharePoint site About you and your skills Minimum 2 years of experience as a technical Business Analyst with preference for: Data warehouse/ETL, SQL, Business intelligence reporting, data visualization using BI tools, mobile apps, Azure cloud platform Solid experience as a Business Analyst to elicit & prioritize requirements, designing wireframes & report layouts, cubes and data marts, defining acceptance criteria & ability to perform testing as required Experience engaging key stakeholders for understanding scope to define requirements & acceptance criteria Experience working in engineering squads using agile delivery methodologies, attend daily huddle and call out any blockers Ability to work independently under pressure in a fast paced environment to meet project deadlines Liaise with architects, other BA's and engineering managers for feasibility of the solution and OOM estimates Good understanding of Azure cloud platform, API's, Oracle & Snowflake data warehouse, BI tools like MicroStrategy, Power BI Excellent communication skills to define user stories in easy to understand language for the engineering team Good things you'll need: Tertiary qualification in IT or a related discipline preferred Demonstrated awareness of IT change and problem management processes Process oriented with strong attention to details Ability to create user guides for user training Understand the benefits of data warehousing, big data, data science, machine learning and AI Broad technical skills and knowledge in best practices Ability to understand business and IT strategies, environments and trends across multiple functions Take your next step into something bigger, apply now!
