Job description:Ausdrill are seeking an experienced Business Development & Improvement Manager. This is a key role that will lead the development and implementation of Business Development strategies, drive improvement initiatives and foster key client relationships across the Ausdrill business, which includes exploration and drill and blast.Reporting to the General Manager and a key member of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT), the person will play a critical role in achieving growth and profitability objectives by identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, optimising processes, ensuring operational excellence, and maintaining key relationships.Responsibilities: Develop and implement Business Development strategies to drive growth and profitability in Ausdrill. This includes conducting market research and analysis, identifying growth opportunities, and developing strategies to capitalise on them, developing a calendar of events that require Ausdrill representation. Lead and drive improvement initiatives within the Ausdrill business, such as process improvements, cost reductions, and productivity enhancements. This includes identifying areas for improvement, developing, and implementing improvement plans, conducting audits and peer review, and tracking progress towards goals. Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders in the drilling services sector, including customers, suppliers, and industry associations. This includes networking, attending industry events, and ensuring customer satisfaction to maximise opportunities for growth and partnerships. Working closely with the Senior Manager: Operations to foster and maintain client relationships. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment of Business Development and improvement strategies with operational and financial goals within Ausdrill guidelines. This includes working closely with operations, finance, and other departments to develop strategies that maximise profitability and efficiency. Working closely with the tendering team to coordinate tender submissions, pricing, strategy and improving and developing our tender model. Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements in all activities related to Business Development and improvement in the drilling services sector. This includes staying up-to-date with changes to relevant regulations and ensuring that all activities comply with these regulations. Key Requirements: Diploma or Tertiary level qualifications in a business related discipline (desirable) Formal qualification in "Lean" methodologies (desirable) Previous Business Development experience within the drilling, or mining industry Demonstrated sound knowledge of the drilling industry and client needs and requirements Demonstrated ability to negotiate contracts and tenders that are outside of the norm Rights to work in Australia.
