About the role

Are you looking for a dynamic opportunity with a fast-growing, ASX-listed, global company?  Ai-Media is currently on the hunt for a Business Development Manager eager to generate new business and support existing customers in the ANZ region.   

As the Business Development Manager, your key objectives will be:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive Business Development strategy to drive sales growth and achieve revenue targets across different target sectors, including but not limited to Live Events & Production, Sports & Venues, Governments, Corporate/Enterprise and Broadcast
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities through market research, networking, and strategic outreach efforts
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, partners, and stakeholders
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including sales, marketing, product development and engineering to develop tailored solutions
  • Lead negotiations and contract discussions with clients to secure new business opportunities
  • Prepare and deliver compelling presentations, proposals, and pitches to clients and partners
  • Provide regular updates and reports on sales performance and Business Development activities to senior management
  • Stay informed about industry trends, competitive landscape, and emerging technologies to identify opportunities for innovation and growth

This is a remote work role where you will be part of a growing sales team with colleagues based in Melbourne, Sydney, Central Coast and Newcastle. You will need to communicate with Product & Engineering teams in North America and Europe, so some early morning/late evening calls will be required.

About You

  • 4+ years of relevant sales and Business Development experience, preferably in a technology-sales role
  • Possess a natural killer-instinct for closing deals, someone able to juggle numerous opportunities at various stages of closure
  • Self-motivated with an entrepreneur mindset to continuously prospect new clients in new industries, understand their unique business and create a need for AI-Media’s services for their business.
  • A natural sales-hunter profile, someone who revels at the challenge of prospecting for leads into new sectors with minimal experience or direction
  • Strong communication, negotiation and presentation skills to build rapport and grow network with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Experience working in the captioning, transcription or translation industry is not a pre-requisite for this role
  • Ideally, you’ll be based in or near Sydney where majority of clients are located but amenable to travel will be required across Australia to meet with clients and prospects.
  • Amenable to spend an average of 2-3 days a month working from our North Sydney headquarters

Desired skills

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field preferred
  • Strong understanding of typical broadcast captioning technology solutions, workflows, and industry trends
  • Strong understanding of B2B sales techniques and strategies, including prospecting, lead qualification, negotiation, and closing deals
  • Experience working with a lead generation team (Sales Development Representatives) or similar
  • Experience leveraging Hubspot or other sales CRM system to aid in deal tracking and management, prospecting and reporting of activities
  • Have a growth mindset who is comfortable collaborating with colleagues and part of a wider team
  • A team player with positive and proactive attitude who can contribute to a goal-orientated team and achieve outcomes
  • A self-starter that is comfortable working autonomously
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, comfortable working with a variety of stakeholders across the business and building strong relationships
  • Ability to keep cool under pressure, have exceptional attention to detail and a willingness to go above and beyond
