Business Development Manager - Commercial Lead

RTO Services and Education Sector

Based: Sunshine Coast

Salary: Commensurate based on experience

About us:

Based in Maroochydore on the Sunshine Coast, Skills Generation (RTO41008) is a leading provider of VET Training services in Queensland delivering a broad range of qualifications across Community Services, Aviation, Information Technology and Business Management. Skills Generation is a Department of Employment, Small Business and Training (DESBT) Skills Assure Supplier (SAS) in Queensland. We are currently looking to recruit a Business Development Manager to lead all our Commercial activity and join our team on a full-time basis.

The role:

The position has a wide scope managing a team that is the commercial powerhouse of our RTO with responsibility for all aspects of new sales generation and relationship management. Business segments and products covered include:

· Single subscriber students

· High schools

· Corporate clients

· Traineeships

· Vet Student Loans (VSL)

Strong team management skills are essential with demonstrated experience in getting performance at all levels of a busy and varied educational services commercial team. You will be comfortable with full ownership and board reporting of the sales pipeline being delivered through a variety of channels and service platforms. Stakeholder management skills will mean building and managing relationships at Executive levels across organisations including corporate customers, industry bodies, schools and both State and Federal Government.

This position also requires a deep understanding of government tendering and response processes, commercial sales business cycles as well as maintaining an established client base via strong account management principles.

Additionally, you will be providing all these activities under the umbrella of a quality service that is in compliance with the Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA), the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) and related State and Federal Government specific policies and procedures.

Selection criteria, required experience and skills will include:

Ideally you will have held senior Business Development, Sales or Marketing positions within the educational services sector and have at least 10 years relevant experience. You will be able to demonstrate:

· Recent experience in VET based business development activities

· Knowledge and experience working with relevant Standards for RTOs and Department of Employment Small Business and Training (DESBT) Skills Assure Supplier (SAS) Funding Guidelines

· Knowledge of the regulatory, business development and marketing requirements of the educational services sector

· Ability to develop sustainable relationships that drive business growth and profitability

· Experience managing the establishment, design and coordination of VET based business development activities

· High level of organisational, time and staff management skills

· High level of written and verbal communication skills, including conflict resolution

· Strong computer literacy skills, including the Microsoft Office and Google applications in addition to knowledge of the LMS landscape

These skills will be supported via your educational achievements to at least tertiary level standard
