About the Role

Reporting to the State Manager VIC/TAS, as a Business Development Manager – Projects, you will play a pivotal role in driving our growth strategy. You will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities within the mid-tier new construction and upgrade projects, developing, and nurturing client relationships, and contributing to our overall success. This is an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact and be part of a team that values creativity, collaboration, and results.

Your key accountabilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Collaborating closely with the BDM - Wholesale, to reach out to contractors and review quotations, ensuring that the proposed work aligns with its intended purpose and that the contractor successfully secures the quoted project.
  • Identifying and targeting new business opportunities through research, market analysis, and lead generation.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with electrical contractors, understanding their needs, and tailoring solutions to meet them.
  • Building and maintaining relationships with wholesale branches via the BDM – Wholesale. 
  • Developing and executing strategic Business Development plans to achieve revenue and growth targets.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful delivery of projects and solutions to clients.
  • Preparing and delivering compelling presentations and proposals.
  • Negotiating contracts and agreements, ensuring they align with company objectives.
  • Staying up to date with industry trends, competitors, and market conditions.
  • Providing regular reporting and analysis of Business Development activities and results.
  • Fostering a culture of excellence, teamwork, and continuous improvement within the Clevertronics team.

Skills and Experience

This role requires effective teamwork, persuasive sales skills, skilled negotiation, keen market insight, and a high standard of quality for optimal business outcomes; and:

  • At least 5 years' experience in a similar role within Electrical, Wholesale, Construction, Facility Management, or other technical industry.
  • Electrical industry experience related to either a technical or commercial level. (Preferred but not essential).
  • Demonstrated experience in selling technical products and solutions.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport and maintain long-term customer relationships.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to multi-task, identify growth opportunities, manage projects, and develop actionable plans.
  • Results-orientated mindset with a track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
  • Excellent organisation, presentation, conflict resolution, and negotiation skills.
  • Current valid driver's license
