The opportunity

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities: You will be responsible for researching potential markets, identifying key prospects, and developing strategies to expand our customer base. This includes seeking out new partnerships to promote SleepMaker products
  • Build and nurture relationships: Cultivate strong relationships with potential and existing business partners and retailers to enhance our market presence
  • Collaborate with the sales team: Work closely with the sales team to ensure the effective implementation of Business Development strategies and achieve revenue targets.
  • Conduct market research: Stay up-to-date with industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activities. Utilise this information to develop competitive strategies and stay ahead of market demands
  • Develop and implement business plans: Create detailed business plans for each market segment and region, outlining short-term and long-term objectives. Monitor progress and make adjustments as needed to ensure goals are met
  • Staff managemnt: Coach, develop and train Sales Consultants to continually improve capability and results delivery

Skills and experience

The successful candidate will have a proven track record as a successful Business Development Manager within the consumer goods industry, preferably in the bedding or home furnishings sector. As well as:

  • Strong business acumen with the ability to analyse market trends and develop effective business strategies
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with proven experience managing, coaching and motivating teams
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills to build and maintain relationships with various stakeholders
  • Proven ability to work independently, take ownership of projects, and deliver results
  • Proficient in MS office suite and CRM systems
