- The Business Payroll Lead will be the key contact and coordinate all payroll related functions across the MRAEL business group;
- Contribute towards continuous improvements to payroll systems, controls and processes including identifying and improving payroll efficiencies within MRAEL;
- Be responsible for all client queries and billing; including calculation of On-Costs, Charge Rates, and the reconciliation of client billing and client purchase orders;
- Calculate payments of wages such as terminations, bonuses and redundancies and maintain up to date employee payroll records;
- Reconciliation and payment of Superannuation, WorkCover, PAYG, and all relevant statutory requirements;
- Attend to the design, improvement, generation, and analysis of reports on key business activities and statistics in timely and effective decision-making;
- Provide advice to the business and National Group Training Manager on payroll functions and system policies and processes, ensuring payroll compliance with applicable awards, enterprise agreements, common law contracts and all other statutory obligations
- Follow up and resolve all MRAEL Payroll queries and issues in a timely manner, through detailed and clear communication to MRAEL Management and Business Payroll Manager.
- Minimum 3 years' experience in Business Payroll processing or in a Lead Payroll position.
- Accounting/ Finance/ Bookkeeping background - Tertiary Finance or Accounting qualification is highly regarded but not essential
- Proficiency and extensive experience in interpreting awards and Enterprise Agreements (EAs)
- Advanced level of computer literacy skills (including proficiency with Microsoft Excel)
- Exposure to a high-volume payroll is preferred
- Exceptional data entry and administrative skills
- An in depth understanding of payroll legislation and processes
- Exceptional communication and problem solving skills
- Maintaining a working knowledge of employment law, taxation, superannuation, Legislation and award changes and National Employment standards
