About the role
You will assist in the preparation and service of food items and to provide support to the Chef de Cuisine in performing their duties, ensuring to create memorable guest experiences by bringing Hyatt’s purpose “To care for people so they can be their best” to life.

Main Responsibilities
- Organise and assist in the preparation and production of dishes to the highest possible standard and maintain punctuality to service requirements.
- Direct and supervise Commis Chefs and trainees in maintaining the standards
- Assist in maintaining a minimal food cost by storing food items correctly and preparing only the portions required
- Prepare daily mise-en-place according to business demand, work lists or verbal instructions ensuring preparation is complete prior to service
- Assist with the daily requisition of food and equipment items and collect and check stores items and ensure proper storage
Qualifications
- Relevant experience in the same or similar role in a high end restaurant or 5 star hotel environment
- Relevant and minimum of certificate IV in commercial cookery
- Flexibility to work in a shift work and fast paced environment
