Queensland Complete Contracting Services (QCCS) is a privately owned business that commenced in 1999 and has established itself as an industry leader providing civil construction and earthmoving solutions across a range of diverse industries for the past 25 years in Mackay.
We are currently seeking an experienced and driven Commercial and Contracts Manager to manage our Commercial and contractual arrangements that support cost effective project delivery and to review contracts to ensure that QCCS’s Commercial and contractual interests are protected.
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the key responsibilities of the role will be to:
- Develop and embed the Commercial and contractual systems, standards, processes, procedures for projects managed by QCCS
- Analyse and structure project administration tools in accordance with project requirements, including budgets and allowances
- Oversee adherence by Project Managers to QCCS’s Commercial and contractual standards and processes
- Monitor and evaluate contract administration performance on projects
- Assist Project Managers/Estimators in negotiating major contracts
- Undertake contractual risk mitigation through review of tender contracts and negotiation of final award
- Upkeep contract forecasts to ensure proactive action towards outstanding securities, bank guarantees, defects liabilities and substantial completion are reached
- Deliver integration and scheduling of programs, business initiatives and work between operations and functions
- Provide support to the CEO and management team, as required
Based in Mackay, the successful candidate will have demonstrated capabilities in contracts management and project cost control of similar size and complexity. They will also possess:
- Proven track record in consistent cost management, Commercial and contract management of projects between $1m to $25m (ideally civil construction or earthworks)
- Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in the building, mining, earthworks and/or civil construction industry
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Competent use of Microsoft Office Products especially Excel
- Experience using the Viewpoint construction and ERP software solution is seen as an advantage
