Community Team Leader
Sahara Services is looking for an energetic, self-starting, people focused Team Leader to join our growing organization. The essential function of this role will be to provide outstanding leadership to our valuable team of Support Workers.
The role
Reporting to the Client Services Manager – Community, the Team Leader will be responsible for the daily running of the Community hub, as well as mentoring, coordinating, and providing ethical leadership to your team. The successful candidate will be required to oversee the day-to-day supervision and support of the team, monitoring their workload, performance and competencies. You will have a key focus in building team capabilities, strengthening customer relationships and driving continued improvement initiatives.
Key responsibilities:
- Provide leadership and support to the support worker team within a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
- Strong understanding of the NDIS, including a demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with individuals and their families/carer's.
- Deliver effective and efficient programs and services in line with funding requirements and business objectives.
- Ensure Service Agreements are created, reviewed and generated within a timely manner.
- Commitment to high standards of a person-centred approach to service provision, social inclusion and assessment and planning principals.
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with clients, families, and stakeholder networks.
- Compliance in relation to funding specifications and accountability.
- Participate in activities within the program to strengthen quality service delivery.
- Monitor and respond to incidents and their relevant reporting mechanisms.
- Commitment to continuous improvement and ensure compliance with WHS requirements in your areas of responsibility
- Orientation of staff, volunteers, and students to ensure compliance with organizational requirements.
- Support and resource agreed activities, programs, and events.
- Data collection, surveys and reporting against specifications.
- Develop programs which build the capacity of participants and the local community to work together.
- Participate in the planning, resourcing and conduct of Community Events.
- Monitor and report to the Service Delivery Manager, issues in relation to your areas of responsibility.
- Decision-making, reporting and other responsibilities within agreed delegations.
- Ensure good communication with staff, customers, and stakeholders.
- Regular communication and reporting to the SDM (Community).
- Engage with the team and other staff to create and contribute to a harmonious and effective workplace
- A strong understanding to Sahara company values and the ability to provide ethical leadership.
- Proven experience implementing and executing initiatives, for example, budgets, meal plans, and rosters.
- The ability to communicate verbally and in writing with Senior Managers, colleagues, consumers, and stakeholders in a prompt, articulate and respectful manner.
- Managing team rostering, establishment, leave and payroll requirements.
- On Call – provide afterhours emergency support to staff within a rostered-on call function.
Essential Criteria
- Extensive experience working in community services and disability sector
- A current Working with Children Check
- NDIS Worker Check (or willing to apply)
- Current First Aid Certificate
- NSW Drivers License with your own comprehensively insured car
- Certificate III or IV in Disability Services
