About the role:
We are seeking an experienced Compliance Manager to join our Line 2 team. As a key member of the compliance team, you will have the opportunity to redefine the organisation's approach to compliance management and contribute to various uplift initiatives already underway. You will be working alongside Compliance, Risk and Legal team members to implement compliance policies and procedures including compliance plan attestation processes, breach assessment and reporting, regulatory change management and obligation register maintenance. You will draw from your strong working knowledge of the legislative and regulatory obligations impacting industry super funds, to provide practical and commercially savvy compliance advice to the business. You will have the opportunity to engage with senior management and become a trusted advisor to the business, as well as an essential member of the broader Compliance, Legal and Resolutions team.
Some Key Responsibilities
- Provide compliance advice to the business that is practical, commercially savvy and in line with relevant legislative/regulatory obligations as well as the Organisation's risk appetite.
- Assist with the implementation of the Compliance Management Framework, by developing training materials and How-To-Guides for key compliance processes.
- Assist with maintenance of the Obligations Register, reviewing LexisNexis obligation summaries and alerts, managing GRC dashboards and reporting functionality.
- Assist with the preparation of breach assessments and related notifications to Regulators.
- Assist with the preparation of Regulatory Change Impact Assessments, to support business units in identifying and managing the impacts of regulatory change.
- Contribute to compliance deep-dives or thematic reviews, identifying key compliance gaps, control weaknesses or other areas for improvement.
- Support business units in maintaining their compliance plans and review the adequacy of controls designed to meet obligations.
- Collaborate with Compliance, Risk and Legal team members and foster a positive and risk-aware compliance culture.
About you:
- Tertiary qualifications in Law (preferred), Commerce or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in the financial services or superannuation industry, preferably obtained within a Line 2 compliance function.
- Strong working knowledge of the superannuation regulatory landscape including familiarity with RSEL & AFSL licensing obligations, SIS Act requirements, APRA prudential standards, ASIC Regulatory Guides etc.
- Experience preparing compliance reports for Boards and senior management.
- Experience drafting compliance policies and procedures.
- Experience in compliance plan monitoring, compliance attestation processes, breach assessment and reporting, regulatory change management and AFS/RSE licensing.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to establish credibility, influence, and negotiate outcomes effectively.
