This position will be focusing primarily on our Energy Systems line of business, which include telecommunications, IT, uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), utilities and switchgear, security, emergency lighting and general electronics. Some of the reserve power brands include PowerSafe,DataSafe, and Genesis. Our extensive product range serves a variety of reserve power applications and consistently delivers the most effective, powerful and reliable batteries available.
Role Overview
As a Solutions Engineer your primary responsibility will be to analyse and interpret client specifications and requirements, then prepare and deliver timely and accurate estimation of the costs associated with the complete suite of ICS solutions provided by EnerSys. Once the project has been awarded this role would then create the design to handover to Production.
Main Responsibilities
- Work in support of the sales team in a pre-sales solution capacity to analyse and interpret client specifications and requirements in order for the most cost effective, practical and compliant solution to be determined with cost to deliver estimation produced within the available timeframe.
- Protect our company by ensuring that all solutions offered are compliant with Australian, New Zealand and other applicable Standards.
- Provide clear inclusions, exclusions and assumptions with all estimations.
- Manage schedules and work closely with your colleagues to ensure constant feedback to bid co-ordinator to ensure the Sales team and management understand current workloads.
- Introduce and maintain a cycle of continuous improvement in estimating accuracy and scope.
- Continue to learn and develop knowledge for all product solutions to assist with backing up your colleagues during periods of high demand and/or periods of leave.
- Continue to learn and develop knowledge in DC Power, Solar and related solutions to enable ICS to confidently offer these product into the marketplace.
- Work with our delivery teams to research costs including materials, labour and equipment including cost analysis of completed projects.
- Work with the procurement team to source new components, products, materials and suppliers for best value.
- Work with Enclosure Business Unit to identify cost reductions to delivery and provide support for their implementation.
- Work with Services Business Unit to include estimations of related works with Enclosure supply.
- Work with Reserve & Motive Power Business Units to include estimations of related Products with Enclosure supply.
- Liaise with internal and external clients as required to clarify any areas of confusion.
- Build and maintain a library of costs as a reference for future projects and accurate bids, ensure system is updated, current and robust.

- Electrical or Power Electronics engineering or relevant tertiary qualification.
- Auto-cad skills.
- Strong communication, literacy and numeracy skills
- Advanced skills in: Problem solving, Organisation, Communication & interpersonal skills, and Computer literacy – Microsoft Office / Windows environment
- Ability to prioritise workload
- Previous experience in similar roles.
- In depth knowledge of the applicable AUS/NZ Standards
