This is an exciting opportunity for a Development Manager with a proven track record in working on projects within medium to high density residential building sector and involvement in mixed use/commercial to join this growing dynamic Australian owned company.
In this role you will manage projects from conception to completion, delivering the complete development cycle from land acquisition, project delivery phase through to completion; including satisfaction of conditions precedent to project commencement, project brief preparation and planning, management of initial design and approvals, marketing, sales, procurement, delivery, settlements, hand-over and customer service.
The role comes with a high level of autonomy and responsibility and encompasses working with authorities, consultants, administration, finance, and delivery team while understanding the impact each place has upon the other for a cohesive and profitable development.
Key Accountabilities and Experience:
- Lead development and actively manage projects from conception to completion
- Manage design development and DA preparation
- Provide support in the acquisition assessments process to further grow the pipeline
- Continually monitor markets, prepare Feasibility studies and due diligences
- Engage with key stakeholders and authorities to ensure support for the development
- Oversee and facilitate development concepts, DA Coordination and pre-lodgement meetings with design team to ensure business and project targets are met for all predesign work and land development phase
- Facilitate initial CC phase works of all projects with both design team and delivery teams
- Maintain relations and upkeep regular communication and a collaborative nature with various external stakeholders, authorities, asset owners, service providers and governing bodies
- Facilitate and manage LEP process, rezoning of land negotiations with governmental departments
- Manage and and facilitate all Strata, stratum and land registration
- Ensure project support, facilitation and administration in collaboration with delivery team from completion, final OC, handover and settlement
- Manage all dispute resolution and litigation matters
- Compliance: WPSE&Q and company policies and procedures
Skills Knowledge and Experience:
- Bachelor Degree in Property or a related field
- 5 + years' Industry experience (property development, design practice or construction company within the medium to high density residential building sector)
- Experience managing multi-disciplinary consultant teams
- Project, cost and risk management expertise
- Exceptional stakeholder management and influencing skills
- Development Management experience
- Knowledge of property development industry and DA process
- Knowledge of full project life cycle from conception to delivery
- Ability to interpret architectural documentation and consultant reports
- Acumen for financial feasibility and options analysis
- Ability to manage competing priorities and individual milestones whilst mentoring others and nurturing teamwork
- Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Excellent IT skills (MS Office, Project)
