Faith Lutheran College Plainland has an outstanding opportunity for a skilled and motivated professional to join a contemporary and progressive Christian secondary school in the role of Digital Learning and Resource Officer. The Digital Learning and Resource Officer plays an important role in overseeing the InfoHub. This includes the day-to-day management of the College’s library services and Resources, as well as providing key administrative support regarding the Learning Management System (LMS)
The role is permanent full time (term time only).
Key Responsibilities
The role primarily involves the following five (5) dimensions:
- Promote the mission and ethos of the College
- Library Services and Resources
- Learning Management System (LMS) Support
- Digital Literacy and Research
- Administrative Tasks
Promotes the mission and ethos of the College
- Model appropriate standards of behaviour consistent with the Christian ethos of the College.
- Articulate the shared vision and mission of the College.
- Undertake the responsibilities of this position in a manner that supports the core values of the College.
Library Services and Resources
- Oversee the management and organisation of library resources, including books, digital materials, and periodicals.
- Assist students and staff with knowing, locating and accessing library materials, both physical and digital.
- Develop and implement library programs and services that support academic and research needs.
- Ensure the InfoHub (library space) is conducive to Learning and study, maintaining an organised and welcoming environment, and reflects the College's contemporary learning practices.
- Collaborate with vendors and publishers to acquire relevant educational resources.
LMS Support (course)
- Provide comprehensive support for the Learning Management System (LMS), including user account and course setup and management, troubleshooting, and user training.
- Assist students and staff with navigating the LMS, troubleshooting technical issues, and accessing course materials.
- Work with key staff to enact reporting procedures.
- Stay updated on emerging trends in educational technology to enhance LMS capabilities.
Digital Literacy and Research
- Lead initiatives to enhance digital literacy skills among students and staff, promoting effective use of technology for Learning and research.
- Provide guidance on conducting research, citing sources, and evaluating digital information.
- Foster an environment that encourages collaboration, communication, and critical thinking in line with contemporary learning practices.
- Curate and promote digital resources to support research and information literacy.
- Organise workshops and training sessions on digital tools and research methodologies.
Administrative Tasks
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the InfoHub, ensuring a clean, organised, and welcoming environment for students and staff.
- Supervise student workers, assigning tasks and providing training as needed.
- Oversee administrative tasks related to library budget management, including resource acquisitions and expenditures.
- Collaborate with other departments to plan and execute library-related events and programs.
- Maintain records and documentation related to library services, resources, and activities.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:

- An ability to assess efficiency and effectiveness in systems and processes.
- A comprehensive knowledge and understanding of current and emerging educational trends.
- Demonstrated capacity to be an empathetic listener, with strong written and verbal communication skills.
- An ability to manage resources on time and within budget.
