We currently have a fantastic opportunity to join our team as part time Event Operations Coordinator (3.5 days a week) within Merlin Entertainments Sydney cluster including Sea Life Sydney Aquarium, Wild Life Sydney Zoo, Madame Tussauds, Sydney Tower Eye and Illawarra Fly Treetop Adventure!
About the Role
Reporting to the Event Operations Supervisor, you will be responsible for ensuring our guests have amazing and memorable experiences. The Merlin Events Team has a real focus on FUN while having a real love for what we do. As owner and operator of Australia’s most exciting venues we are proud to offer exciting and unique events to our clients.
Your duties include but are not limited to:
Working with the Event Operations Supervisor with joint responsibility for the operational running of the Merlin Events department, delivering exceptional event experiences within budget.
Leading a team of casual Event Supervisors and Event Attendants to ensure the highest level of service and standards are met.
Working with the Events Manager NSW on service delivery improvements.
Full responsibility for maintaining accurate stock reporting and cost of goods.
Responsible for creating supplier purchase orders and managing payment of invoices.
Assisting in the oversite of rostering, training and performance management of all casual staff and Event Supervisors.
Responsible for the safe operations of events and compliance with Health and Safety Policies.
Ensuring compliance with local and Merlin Entertainments policies including liquor licence requirements.
Coordinating and managing third party event suppliers.
About You
To shine in this role, you will ideally have strong customer service skills and experience in maintaining clear and effective communication with the client throughout the event delivery process and a passion for working in the tourism and attraction industry is essential. Having an understanding of the Australian events industry is highly desirable.
You will also have:
- Strong interpersonal and networking skills and being able to build meaningful relationships at all levels for both internal and external stakeholders.
- Exceptional attention to detail, clear and concise communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Hands-on approach to events.
- Experience using Priava or Netsuite is desirable.
