Your role

A fantastic new opportunity exists in the Dispute Resolution team for a Legal Assistant to provide secretarial and administrative support as part of a busy team. This role undertakes a diverse range of legal work. No two days are the same and you will be helping support a close knit team.

Some of your responsibilities will include:

  • document preparation (including the use of precedents) and amendments
  • proactive diary management and coordination of meeting/travel arrangements
  • liaising with clients as directed by fee earners
  • assisting with meeting client KPI's including client reporting
  • answering calls and monitoring emails
  • file management, including opening files and some electronic filing
  • assisting with end of month billing and reporting
  • reconciliation of corporate AMEX expenses using Concur
  • general administrative tasks
  • other ad hoc duties as required

What you need

To be successful in this role, exceptional organisational skills are essential as well as a high level of initiative, energy and enthusiasm and enjoy working in a team environment. You will need to be self-motivated and adaptable.

In addition, you will possess the following attributes:

  • a legal background is advantageous, but for the right candidate not essential
  • 2+ years office experience
  • a high level of confidentiality
  • ability to work under pressure and manage conflicting priorities
  • intermediate Microsoft application knowledge
  • an understanding of billing and financial systems and other software applications preferred but full training will be provided
  • resilience and a commitment to excellence that matches our own
  • a high level of accuracy and attention to detail pride in your work
