Facilities Manager

The Company

Green Farmers is one of Australia’s largest medicinal cannabis cultivators located in Victoria’s South East (approximately an hour and a half from the city).   We are growing quickly and need to expand our team to meet current customer demand and our business growth strategy. As a B2B supplier of medicinal cannabis to Australian brands and patients, Green Farmers is looking for highly motivated Facilities Manager that can operate in a highly regulated industry.

The Role

 Reporting directly to the General Manager/Chief Operating Officer, you will be responsible for overseeing and planning the day to day maintenance and running requirements of our facility. 

We are seeking a reliable individual who has the ability to think on their feet and work proactively and efficiently.

Key responsibilities:

• Work closely with the managers across the facility to ensure smooth running of all equipment
• Coach and develop the facilities team and mange conflicting priorities , ensuring that production deadlines are met
• Manage projects through the facility as required in conjunction with the Cultivation team
• Scheduling of tasks and managing the priorities of the maintenance manager
• Ensure the preventative maintenance program is completed guaranteeing minimum downtime
• Risk assess hardware and redundancy and make recommendations for improvement
• Develop a network of sub contractors for specialists maintenance
• Maintain records and actions for facility certifications where relevant 
• Conduct regular inspections of the property and identify maintenance issues and ensure the facility is compliant and meets safety standards

The successful candidate will have the following skills:

• Be self-motivated with a positive attitude
• Hold a current driver’s licence with own vehicle
• Be flexible and have the ability to adapt to changing demands
• Previous experience with managing a team
• Good computer literacy with well-developed written and verbal communication skills
• Good analytical skills, attention to detail and decision-making ability
• Immediate Start preferred (will take into account resignation notification period for the right applicant)
• Project management experience

Candidates with more extensive experience in horticultural glasshouse maintenance and pumps will be viewed favourably and compensated accordingly. 

All candidates are required to undergo a Police Check prior to commencement, which will be covered at the expense of Green Farmers.
