Job description

Have you ever wondered how it works backstage? Do love a good day's work in a place that gives you something new to learn everyday?

THEN WE WANT TO HEAR FROM YOU!

About Us

Queensland Performing Arts Centre (QPAC) is one of Australia’s leading centres for live performance. Welcoming over 1.5 million visitors to more than 1200 performances each year, we embrace the best in live performance – the world renowned alongside the emerging, local and new – and connect to the stories and ideas at the heart of each production. Through the warmth and expertise of our staff, we have become a trusted curator, presenter and host; a place to come together to relax, reflect, share stories and celebrate.

About the Role

Reporting to the Dock Operations Supervisor, this role is responsible for receiving, recording, storing, and distributing goods that are delivered through all QPAC dock areas. The role undertakes general facilities duties around the entire building, including but not limited to, cleaning, furniture setup and removal, consumable stocktakes and supply, as well as inspections of building, furniture, fixtures and equipment for logging maintenance and cleaning requests.

In addition, this role will undertake Forklift and machinery operation, conduct traffic control responsibilities, perform minor building, furniture, fixtures and equipment maintenance and carry out minor repair tasks unsupervised.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have demonstrated knowledge of safe work practices, excellent communication and customer relations skills, the ability to work effectively (both as part of a team and individually), along with a demonstrated physical ability to frequently lift and carry materials weighing up to 20kgs (and occasionally greater than 20kgs). In addition, you will hold a current Driver Licence (class C, manual).

This role requires the individual to have a high degree of flexibility in relation to their work hours, sometimes at short notice. Availability will be required for day, evening and weekend hours in accordance with business operations.

Please also note, it is a mandatory requirement for the successful applicant to present a National Police Certificate (name check only), which is clear of security breaches, dishonesty type offences, and criminal misconduct against persons.
