About the Role:
Enabling Pathways Community is looking for a dynamic Finance and Payroll Officer to join our team in Cairns. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the financial health and compliance of the organisation. Reporting to Executive Managers, you will support the management and optimisation of financial processes, safeguarding the company and supporting its overall business objectives.
As a Finance and Payroll Officer, your role will include:
- Complete payroll processes, ensuring accurate and timely payments to employees.
- Manage bookkeeping tasks, maintaining organized and up-to-date financial records.
- Support Business Activity Statement (BAS) lodgements and ensure compliance.
- Handle Superannuation and Qleave obligations, ensuring timely contributions and compliance.
- Support the creation of comprehensive business quoting to ensure accurate budgeting and financial planning.
- Create invoices and follow up creditors.
- Monitor business budgets to ensure alignment with organisational goals.
- Efficiently manage bills and payments, ensuring accuracy and adherence to budget constraints.
- Conduct cash flow forecasting to identify potential financial challenges and opportunities.
- Collaborate with external auditors during financial audits.
- Assist in the implementation and optimisation of financial software systems.
- Identify risks of fraud and error, implement internal controls, and resolve financial discrepancies and invoicing issues.
Experience and Qualifications:
- Cert 4 or above in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
- Current Queensland Blue Card.
- Current First Aid and CPR Certificate.
- Open Driver Licence.
- Clean Police Check dated within 6 months.
- Proof of Citizenship or VISA if applicable.
- Minimum 5 years of proven experience in a Finance and Payroll related roles.
- Experience with payroll, bookkeeping, budgeting, and compliance.
- Previous experience with Employment Hero, Xero, Budgetly and Microsoft Office is desirable.
- Experienced in effectively interpreting and navigating the intricacy of the Awards.
- Previous experience in the NDIS (National Disability Insurance Scheme) sector is advantageous.
