This position will be Melbourne in our Cheltenham office/hybrid. Working closely with local Managing Director and team as well as the Corporate Controller based in the United States.
In This Position, You Will Have the Opportunity to:
- Financial Analysis: Provide insightful P&L analysis to support operational decision-making.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Partner with internal stakeholders to prepare the annual budget.
- Management Reporting: Prepare monthly management accounts with comprehensive variance analysis and commentary.
- Processing biweekly payroll.
- Weekly collation and publication of debtors, creditors, and cash flow reports.
- Accounts Payable and Receivable reconciliation and management.
- Responsibility for financial impact monthly and stock take reconciliations.
- Preparation of monthly balance sheet reconciliations and key performance indicator reporting.
- Preparation of supporting BAS/FBT schedules and submission.
- Ensuring compliance with statutory law, finance, and tax regulations.
- Measuring company performance against external and internal benchmarks.
- Identifying areas to improve business efficiencies and reduce costs.
- Team Management including mentoring and staff development.
- Working closely with the Executive Leadership team to deliver reports, analysis findings, potential risk areas and forecast opportunities.
What You Need to Succeed in This Position:
- Minimum 6-8 years of accounting experience
- Bachelors or Masters qualifications in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business Administration or Business Law.
- Professional accounting qualifications such as CA or CPA desirable.
- Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
- Ability to work well under minimal supervision with experience in a manufacturing and/or distribution environment being an advantage.
- Excellent communication skills and highly developed time management ability.
- In-depth knowledge of tax regulations and compliance requirements.
- Experience in inventory management systems preferred (Unleashed).
- Experience with creating financial statements.
- Intermediate to advanced computer software skills, ERP including Excel and other accounting packages (e.g. Xero, Power BI, IFS).
