Finance Officer

Eden Ritchie is seeking a Finance Officer to provide a wide range of finance based support to the project team within the Rail Infrastructure Delivery Office. You will achieve this by providing finance support in addition to the administrative and organisational skills needed to ensure project objectives are met. You will ensure that priorities and deadlines are achieved, and high-quality standards maintained.

• 12 month contract with possibility of 12 month extension
• Brisbane CBD location

As the Finance Officer, your key responsibilities will include:

• Your role will help deliver a range of finance and project activities to support the day-to-day financial operations and outcomes, to ensure compliance with departmental financial policies and procedures as directed.
• Ensure timely creation, processing and updating of purchase requisitions, purchase orders and invoices for the procurement of departmental products and services.
• Provide accurate finance advice and information in alignment with departmental business and governance framework including end to end travel and administrative activities.
• Prepare written financial advice and provide financial input into various correspondence, briefs and reports.
• Develop and maintain spreadsheet models for analysis and ensure finance registers are utilised and maintained.
• Provide timely and accurate reporting to ensure successful business outcomes.
• Liaise and negotiate internally within the Branch and Division, externally with staff in other Divisions to support the provision of accurate advice and gaining of knowledge to refine local business processes and practices for continuous improvement within the finance function.
• Continue to the on-going training and development of staff within the RIDO team.
• Comply with the WH&S Act, Regulations and Department Policy.
• Assisting with end of month responsibilities, including accruals, uploading journals, and forecasts

While not mandatory, a relevant tertiary qualification and/or experience in working in a major infrastructure project environment would be highly desirable.
