Financial Controller

Join this long running and successful Australian owned organisation operating in the engineering sector. This organisation is dedicated to excellence in the provision of quality assurance services across a broad range of industries.

KEY DUTIES
Reporting to the CEO and Board of Directors, this role will be responsible for; 

- Managing a team of 5 people (HR, AP, AR and Assistant Accountant) 
- Training and development of direct reports
- Work closely with the CEO and Leadership team in the optimisation of business performance
- Preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports, in addition to Board Reports
- Budgeting, forecasting & variation analysis (and commentary)
- Ensuring GAAP compliance
- Cash flow projections ensuring liquidity of business operations
- Review of sales contracts as required ensuring their commercial viability
- Analysis of the financial data in order to make any cost reduction measures
- Ensuring all relevant Federal, state and local regulatory laws (with regards to financial and tax reporting) are adhered to
- Liasing with external auditors, IT Providers, legal contacts as required

ABOUT YOU
- You will be CPA/CA qualified
- Proven commercial background along with a strong Financial Management background, ideally working with a SME (sized business) 
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and ATO Compliance
- Solid ERP exposure along with Advanced Excel knowledge
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to relate to people at all levels within an organisation
- A very high attention to detail along with well advanced analytical and critical thinking skill
