About the role
We have an opportunity become available for a Finance Manager here at the Sydney Adventist Hospital. The primary focus of this role will be to be accountable for control of accounting methods, practices and procedures across the hospital including overseeing the financial planning, analysis and reporting activities.
Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, they role will be hands on in preparation of financial statements and other information to ensure appropriate partnering with the business unit leaders in decisions including costs, budgeting and hospital activities.
This role offers you the opportunity to work in an operationally fast-paced, hands-on environment while also working collaboratively with key internal and external stakeholders.
Key responsibilities of this role will be:
- Business partnering and in turn developing strong and collaborative working relationships with colleagues, senior management, leaders, contractors and vendors to achieve successful business outcomes
- Providing well executed, and reporting for management with ability to easily explain results, and how they affect their department
- Collaborate with management regarding financial initiatives, implications, ricks, benefits and outcomes providing guidance and recommendations from business improvement where required
- Be a true leader by promoting the organisations key values along with driving patient and staff safety, positive culture, and a healthy work life balance
Who we’re looking for
- Minimum of 4-5 years (post CA or CPA) accounting experience in a leadership role
- Proficiency in financial applications with good understanding or ERP systems and other hospitals
- Worked for a medium- large organisation with experience in managing a finance team, including payroll
- Demonstrates commitment to process, quality and people improvement initiatives
- Promotes a culture of safety and respect
- Strong interpersonal skills with an authentic & respectful communication style
- Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams, senior executives and staff at all levels across the organisation
- Demonstrates ability to assess situations, consider solutions, make and communicate decisions and take appropriate action
- Systems experience using JDE or similar is desirable
- Worked in the healthcare sector is preferred (hospital setting desirable)
