Head Chef - New Venue

Hutong Harry's is the hottest NEW VENUE in Byron Bay.

And The Far East Company is looking for a talented and energetic Head Chef to join our established team.

Our ever expanding hospitality group comprises an array of renowned venues, including fine and casual dining, located in Noosa Heads, Brisbane and Byron Bay.

The brand new and refurbished restaurant aims to provide a Chinese style culinary experience for locals and holiday makers alike. With a focus on elegant yet informal dining, the restaurant also offers a fully-equipped bar where talented bar tenders whisk up beautifully considered cocktails to funky sounds late into the night.

 We are seeking a highly skilled Head Chef, with the passion to play a key role in new menu design, coaching and developing our kitchen team, and whom can showcase some wonderful flavour profiles.

 An attractive remuneration will ensure your efforts are proportionally rewarded. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years experience in Asian cuisine. 

The right candidate will have the added support from our Executive Chef Thomas Paddock.

Job tasks and responsibilities:

• Develop inspiring menus from the best of what Chinese inspired cuisine has to offer
• Recruit new and energetic talent.
• Develop a positive working environment
• Source fresh, seasonal produce
• Buying, costing and working with suppliers
• Lead and manage kitchen staff positively while working within KPI's
• Manage food quality, portion control and presentation

Skills and experience:

• Proven experience, knowledge and skill in Chinese cuisine
• Proven experience managing a fast-paced kitchen successfully
• Attention to detail and quality control
• Understanding of costing and profits
