About the position
As the Head of Taxation you will work alongside our suppliers, finance and investment teams to ensure we meet our tax obligations and tax is manage managed across ESS Super’s schemes. Reporting to the CFO this role owns day to day operational management of all taxation matters and providing advice for the scheme and member tax. This is a newly created role where the Head of Taxation will have the opportunity to uplift our tax capabilities, implement and create efficiencies in the management of Taxation matters.
Responsibilities;
- Tax compliance oversight, reviewing and assisting in the preparation tax returns and payments
- Develop and maintain internal and external relationships including regulators such as the ATO
- Enhance and update ESSSupers tax policies and governance frameworks
- Role model ESS Supers purpose and values
- Proactively identify opportunities in how we manage tax matters
What we’re looking for
The successful candidate for this role will have;
- Significant experience providing taxation advice ideally to a superannuation fund or within financial services
- Significant experience with tax governance and related policies
- Demonstrated people leadership experience
- Strong relationship and communications skills to partner stakeholders and regulatory bodies
- A proactive and collaborative approach
- Commercial and contract management experience
- CPA/CA qualified
