DUTY MANAGER: 

Permanent Part-Time Duty Manager for Charming Pub in Redfern

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Duty Manager to join our team at our small pub in Redfern. The role entails being on the floor, leading the team and creating positive and genuine interactions with patrons in our community minded establishment. Having the ability to back this up with excellent back of house and reporting skills is essential. The applicant will need to be available for shifts on Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday afternoons/nights, totaling approximately 24-30 hours per week.

Responsibilities:

• Manage the day-to-day operations of the pub during your shift, ensuring smooth functioning and adherence to policies and procedures.
• Supervise and lead a small team of bar and kitchen staff, providing guidance, training, and support.
• Deliver exceptional customer service, addressing customer concerns, and maintaining a warm and inclusive environment.
• Implement safety protocols and security measures to ensure the well-being of staff and customers.
• Monitor and manage inventory levels and minimize wastage.
• Ordering stock and checking deliveries.
• Ensure compliance with licensing laws, health and safety regulations, and industry standards.
• Organize shift schedules, breaks, and staff allocations to optimize staffing levels.
• Resolve operational or customer issues that arise during your shift, finding effective solutions.
• Complete necessary administrative tasks, such as staff schedules, reports, and financial records.
• Reporting to licensee and management

Requirements:

• Previous experience in a similar role within the hospitality industry.
• Strong leadership and team building skills.
• Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
• Hands on, conscientious approach. 
• Ability to handle cash accurately and efficiently.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to multitask.
• RSA
• First Aid Certificate 
• Basic cocktail making experience
• Good product knowledge
• Availability to work on Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday afternoons/nights with flexibility to work some additional shifts when required.
