YLO (Residential Care Services) provides residential care services to children and young people under the care and protection of the Department of Child Safety across South East QLD.
Our services are grounded within a therapeutic context - we move beyond the basic daily care needs of the young person and focus on the assessment and delivery of individual programs that maximise potential for success and attainment of goals central to the child/young person's developing self.
About the role
We currently have an opportunity for a Human Resource Advisor to work closely with the Managing Directors to provide leadership, direction and coordination of HR management strategies and responses to support and enhance the performance and capabilities of the business.
The position is full time and based in Loganholme. Flexibility/part-time hours may be considered if this aligns with the needs of the company and role.
The position is part of a small head office team of 14 staff and provides line management to the HR & Rostering Administrator.
Key duties & responsibilities
Reporting to the Managing Directors, your key responsibilities will include:
- Manage and undertake operational HR functions, including but not limited to Recruitment & Selection, Performance Management, Training & Development, Workplace Health & Safety, Remuneration & Benefits, Employee/Industrial Relations and HR Administration
- Establish, implement and monitor strategies, policies, procedures and systems across the HR function
- Ensure workplace compliance
- Support and guide line managers to undertake consistent and appropriate performance management processes to promote a supportive and effective performance culture and manage underperformance
- Development of a positive workplace culture
- Provide advisory and operational support to managers and employees across the employment life cycle
To be successful in this role, you will hold a tertiary qualification in Human Resources or a related field, with previous experience in a generalist HR role. You will have strong HR administrative skills in preparing contracts, reviewing HR documentation and ensuring HR position compliance. Your generalist experience includes interpretation of legislation, regulations, awards, together with policies and procedures. This role will suit someone who can develop trusted and influential relationships with others and employees. You will have strong communication, interpersonal and consultation skills to provide sound advice. Your ability to manage competing priorities and work autonomously will be key to your success.
