DSI Underground (a SANDVIK owned company) is one of Australia’s largest, leading manufacturers, suppliers and exporters of specialist strata reinforcement and support products to the underground coal and metalliferous mining sectors. DSI Underground also provides galvanising and other related services to the mining, civil, marine, commercial, and industrial industries.
About the Position
Reporting to the Head of Human Resources, you will form part of the Asia Pacific HR team, looking after employees and HR matters at our Kewdale site, as well as our Kalgoorlie branch. In this position you will:
- Attend to and resolve HR enquiries, concerns and general matters at Kewdale and Kalgoorlie sites
- Provide industrial/employee relations advice and support whilst ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, agreements and policies
- Prepare HR documentation as required, maintain accurate employee records
- Manage end-to-end recruitment processes as required
- Support Managers and Supervisors with management of labour hire personnel
- Assist Managers with onboarding, inductions, probationary period monitoring, performance management, and offboarding processes
- Support and play key role in organisational development related projects – for example, employee satisfaction surveys, internal training initiatives, online performance appraisal, mentoring program etc
- Opportunity to work on State-based and National projects as required (including purely for career growth & learning)
- Assists with injury management and RTW Coordination in WA, working closely with the QHSE team
About You
To be successful in the role you will have min. 3yrs experience in a similar generalist position, enjoy working in fast-paced and hands-on work environment and have strength in both recruitment and industrial relations (IR).
You will also possess all the following attributes:
- Hold a Degree qualification in Human Resource Management or Business
- Possess a strong working knowledge of Australian employment legislation and demonstrated ability in the application of the legislation
- Have demonstrated outstanding skills in communication, relationship management, ethics (including confidentiality and privacy) and problem-solving
- Demonstrated ability to coach and support leaders
- High proficiency in MS Programs including Word, Excel & PowerPoint
- Hold a WA RTW Certificate with a working knowledge and experience with workers compensation system and legislation in WA
- Additionally, previous experience in manufacturing or heavy industry environment, and with the Manufacturing & Associated Industries and Occupations Award is desired (but not essential).
