Job description

Family-owned business Young Academics is a dynamic and rapidly growing Early Learning Provider, with over 30+ centres across New South Wales. We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Human Resources Manager to join our team. Our team is driven by innovation, excellence, and a commitment to delivering high-quality service to our families, children, and community.

About the role:

As a Human Resources Manager, you will play an important role in supporting our Head of HR in executing effective HR strategies and processes. Collaborate closely with our operations department, especially Area Managers, to provide first-line HR/ER advice and mitigate risk and impact within our organisation.

Responsibilities:

  • Report directly to the Head of HR on various HR projects, including reducing employee turnover, developing onboarding/offboarding processes with Employment Hero, creating induction content/training, managing yearly appraisal processes, and refining recruitment team processes.
  • Identify continuous improvement opportunities in HR, developing intuitive processes and procedures.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for resolving basic HR inquiries related to awards, entitlements, conflict resolution, and performance improvement.
  • Offer expert advice on performance management, coaching, and ER matters.
  • Identify people gaps, resourcing needs, and trends impacting performance, recommending appropriate solutions.
  • Escalate complex issues to the Head of HR when necessary.
  • Stay informed about current, pending, and new legislative developments in employment.
  • Collaborate with the Head of HR to review, create, and deliver a strong Employee Value Proposition (EVP).
  • Stay updated on market trends in employee benefits through data analysis, market research, and internal surveys.
  • Create, analyse, and present HR data and reports to the Head of HR on topics such as turnover, remuneration, and culture.
  • Identify gaps in policies and processes, supporting the Head of HR in their creation and implementation.
About you:
  • Significant demonstrated HR Advisory experience in a range of HR services
  • Experience handling performance management related issues, complex employee matters and IR/ER matters.
  • Natural ability to build strong trust-based relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Experience leading HR projects.
  • Demonstrated skill in using HRIS platforms to solve business problems.
  • Strong understanding of the relevant Awards.
  • Strong understanding of FairWork principles.
Benefits:
  • Competitive remuneration package.
  • Flexible working arrangements.
  • Up to 2 Wellness Days per year.
  • On-site parking
  • Professional development opportunities and ongoing training.
  • Collaborative and inclusive company culture.
  • Opportunity to make a significant impact on the company's financial success.
If you are a motivated and results-driven HR professional with a passion for driving excellence, we invite you to apply for the Human Resources Manager position at Young Academics to join us in shaping the future of our company and contributing to our ongoing success.
