Industry Skills Advisory Council NT (ISACNT) is an independent not-for-profit organisation that provides advice and gathers intelligence on training package development, workforce development, skills shortages and workforce solutions in the Northern Territory. ISACNT aims to increase industry capability and capacity across the Northern Territory.
Purpose of Position
- Provide quality generalist advice and support to managers and employees on a broad range of human resource management matters.
Specific Duties
- Provide direction, support, and advice in all areas of Human Resources (HR), including but not limited to recruitment and selection, learning and development, performance management and reviews, grievances, and dispute resolution.
- Ensure administration of all employment-related practices are documented and well-maintained.
- Assist in coordinating all aspects of the employee lifecycle, including the end-to-end recruitment process, induction, and termination.
- Provide advice and support on the interpretation of policies and procedures.
- Maintain relevant HR records, information, and databases to ensure the accuracy and availability of information where required.
- Ensure confidentiality of HR information and processes is maintained at all times.
- Positively foster and promote a performance-based and collaborative culture.
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships with managers and supervisors (at all levels), providing advice and supporting positive employee relations and company outcomes.
- Provide advice to managers in staff performance appraisals, enabling individual and team professional growth and development.
- Provide support, advice and coaching to management and staff regarding performance management, conflict, and dispute resolution.
- Keep abreast of employment legislation and contemporary HR best practices.
- Conduct other duties as directed by the Chief Executive Officer and/or line management within known skills, knowledge, and capabilities.
Essential Criteria
- Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources and/or relevant work-related experience in a generalist HR role.
- Experience providing Human Resources advice and support with Award/Enterprise Agreement interpretation.
- Knowledge and application of Human Resources theory and policy and the ability to relay this information to support managers and employees.
- Demonstrated ability to understand, interpret and apply relevant Federal, Territory and local legislation, particularly in areas relevant to Human Resources.
- Strong relationship-building and management skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively during change and as a proactive team member.
- Well-developed written and oral communication skills.
Licences/Tickets
- Current NT C-Class Drivers Licence
- Working with Children's Clearance
- National Police Check
Desirable Criteria
- Previous experience supporting managers and staff with grievance and performance management-related issues.
- Knowledge of the Northern Territory and Vocational Education and Training (VET).
