The role
As Technology Business Manager at Praemium, you will be pivotal in ensuring the efficient functioning and running of our technology department. You will develop, produce, and analyze performance metrics, foster collaboration, and ensure compliance with service level agreements and key performance indicators. Your role will encompass managing resource utilization, budget development and tracking, and HR coordination to support departmental objectives. Additionally, you will facilitate communication, oversee vendor management, and implement frameworks to drive innovation and continuous improvement. You will likely run projects within the IT dept to improve how it functions and will also run the IT streams of larger organization initiatives.
Main Activities of This Position:
- Generate and analyze management information (MI) to assess departmental performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Foster effective communication and collaboration within the department and with other functions.
- Monitor and report on Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
- Oversee the management of timesheets to accurately track resource utilization and project progress.
- Track departmental budgets and coordinate financial activities in collaboration with the finance team.
- Coordinate human resources activities, including recruitment, performance management, and professional development, alongside the P&C team.
- Facilitate the coordination and submission of Research and Development (R&D) claims.
- Implement and manage a leadership kanban system to track and prioritize leadership activities and initiatives.
- Manage internal and external communications related to IT initiatives.
- Establish and maintain a vendor management framework.
- Project management
- Oversee production of reporting for the Executive Team and the Board
Essential Qualifications, Experience, and Competencies:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in technology management, business operations, business management, or a related field.
- Experience in overseeing departmental operations, including budget tracking, HR coordination, and vendor management.
- Working knowledge of management information systems and tools for generating and analyzing MI.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint. Power BI is a bonus.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and generate actionable insights.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Demonstrated ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify issues and implement solutions.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and provide leadership when necessary.
- Project management experience preferred.
