About the Role
Reporting to the Commercial Manager, the role will require you to be responsible for site IT functionality with focus on maintaining availability of key systems to allow operational activities to continue.
Duties:
The role will involve the following:
- Installing and configuring computer hardware, software, systems, networks, printers, and telecommunications equipment.
- Monitoring and maintaining computer systems and networks.
- Providing technical support across the company (this may be in person or over the phone).
- Setting up accounts for new users and ensuring termination of services for exiting employees and contractors.
- Repairing and replacing equipment as necessary & maintain records/logs of repairs and fixes and maintenance schedule.
- Testing & reviewing new technology as required by operations for site.
- Develop and maintain local networks in ways that optimize performance.
- Ensure security and privacy of networks and computer systems.
- Organize and schedule upgrades and maintenance without deterring others from completing their work.
- Perform troubleshooting to diagnose and resolve problems (repair or replace parts, debugging etc.)
- Identify computer or network equipment shortages and place orders.
- Engagement with external managed service provider.
About you:
A successful candidate will possess the following:
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience in an IT support role (preferably in the mining industry)
- Good experience with Microsoft based desktop software - Windows 10, Office 365, AutoCAD, Deswik.
- Proficient in building and supporting a SharePoint database.
- Experience with Microsoft based server technologies – Hypervisor, Windows Server 2016-2019, Exchange 2016-365, Active Directory, Citrix.
- Experience with networking technologies – TCP/IP, LAN/WAN, firewalling, xDSL, wireless, VPN, radio networks with vendors such as Cisco, HPE, Fortinet, Telstra MPLS.
- Experience with unified communications, VOIP, teams, SIP, conferencing.
- Experience with backups and data retention technologies and practices.
- Experience supporting mobile devices – Apple iPhone, Google Android.
- Experience with digital 2-way radio systems would be highly regarded.
- Demonstrated diagnostic, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to effectively communicate with a variety technically and non-technically skilled stakeholders.
- Experience of working in a fast-paced environment with measurable outcomes.
