Company description:

Join us and be part of Victoria's Big Build, working within the award-winning Level Crossing Removal Project (LXRP). We've already removed 74 of Victoria's most dangerous and congested level crossings, and we're not stopping any time soon with a further 36 to complete, lasting us until l at least 2030. There has never been a better time to get onboard with our mega program of works!

Job description:

About the role

Our Program Improvements and Investments team are looking for a Leader, Knowledge Strategy with strong coordination, leadership, relationship-building, influencing and strategic thinking skills to join their dynamic team. As the Leader, Knowledge Strategy you will work closely with the Project Leadership Team to develop and align strategic knowledge management and cultural change initiatives across the Level Crossing Removal Project (LXRP), helping to position the Project as an industry leader in leveraging people, ideas, data and technology to drive operational performance improvements and continuous improvement across the program.

On a day-to-day basis, you will find yourself:

  • Driving LXRP's progression to the next level of applied knowledge management maturity, enhancing innovative and sophisticated approaches to our leading infrastructure program.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify and leverage opportunities across LXRP's existing Knowledge, Insights and Tools (KIT) platforms.
  • Utilising your strategic thinking skills to pivot and find innovative ways to partner with people at all levels to foster a unified culture of continuous learning and knowledge sharing across the LXRP program.
  • Applying your skills and passion for improving how businesses operate to drive an already high performing organisation to even greater levels of operational excellence.

This is a three (3) year fixed term position, paying a salary between $130,363 and $174,869 plus superannuation with hybrid working arrangement (a mix of office and home/remote based working). The office you will be working from is in the Melbourne CBD and you will also have the option to access flexible working arrangements if you need them - many LXRP employees work flexibly.

About you

You are someone that understands our complex engineering and construction environment, preferably with experience working in an alliance. You are a confident communicator and influencer and are interested in how technology can enable and inform. You might be in a knowledge role now and looking for a change or step up in your career, or you may have transferable skills that you feel we should know about.

What skills do we expect you to have?

  • Demonstrated experience working in the delivery of major infrastructure projects
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities including the ability to articulate objectives in digestible and engaging ways for a variety of audiences.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and stakeholder relationship management skills to obtain buy-in and engagement to influence outcomes and drive cultural change at the highest levels and across all disciplines.
  • Highly developed critical and analytical thinking skills, with the ability to make linkages between different disciplines and to understand sufficient detail to ensure that knowledge solutions meet overall Project outcomes.

At LXRP we embrace diversity and inclusion. We actively strive to remove barriers and encourage applications from people of any age, or disability, Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islanders, culturally and linguistically diverse or LGBTIQA+. We will make adjustments to our recruitment process to ensure that you are able to participate to the best of your ability.

About LXRP

At LXRP we're not only removing level crossings, but also removing barriers and creating a long-lasting legacy for our communities.

Inclusion is a priority for us, and we are committed to creating an employee community that reflects those in which we work. We value diverse representation at all levels of the organisation.

As leaders in the transport sector, we provide secure pathways into the industry for:

  • People who identify as LGBTQIA+
  • People living with a disability
  • Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders
  • Refugees or asylum seekers
  • People facing barriers to employment.

We offer and encourage flexible work and purchased leave arrangements for all employees to support wellbeing, family or carer commitments and other personal circumstances.

We also place great importance on professional development and growth through both formal training opportunities and lessons learnt.

Health, safety and wellbeing are at the heart of what we do. We aim to create a safe and healthy workplace for everyone, every day, everywhere.

What next?

To apply - just submit your CV. No need to address the key selection criteria, and no need for a cover letter.

Upon applying you will be asked to answer the following (assessed) questions:

  1. How do you personally define the concept of knowledge? (Max 200 words).
  2. What does "Working Collaboratively" in terms of delivering great change mean to you? Please outline an example of when you have successfully achieved this. (Max 250 words)

After assessing your CV and answers to the above questions, the next steps will be a phone screen, followed by an interview that will include a short activity where you can showcase your skills and potential.
