RiverCity Ferries is a subsidiary of Kelsian Group Limited, contracted to operate and maintain the Brisbane City Council’s Ferry fleet with associated infrastructure. The network of 26 terminals is serviced by 30 vessels over a 20km stretch of the Brisbane River, moving over 5 million passengers a year. A Maintenance Facility at Rivergate Marina, together with an Operation Base at Hawthorne form the primary places maintenance is performed.
About the Role
As the Learning and Development Officer at RiverCity Ferries, you will be at the forefront of fostering a culture of continuous improvement and excellence within our dynamic team. You will play a pivotal role in the design, delivery, and evaluation of training programs to meet the evolving needs of our business.
About You
The successful applicant must possess:
Qualifications:
- Minimum Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
- M.E.D 3 minimum
- Master 4
- First Aid and CPR
- 5 years of relevant domestic marine industry experience as a Master
- 2 years demonstrated experience in the implementation and coordination of workplace training and assessment.
- Conversant with the safe operation of Australian domestic commercial vessels.
- Internal and/or external auditing.
- Knowledge of the AMSA National Standard for Commercial Vessels (NSCV) Part E.
- Knowledge of the Work Health & Safety Act, Regulations and Codes of Practice.
- Knowledge and understanding of Risk Management principles.
- Knowledge and understanding of documented management systems (ISO 9001) including development and surveillance audit techniques.
- Highly developed interpersonal skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to develop training programs and training needs analysis.
- Demonstrated research, analytical and evaluation skills.
- Ability to openly consult with management.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Methodical approach to solving problems.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Professional in appearance and attitude.
- Intermediate to advanced computer skills in Microsoft Office products
- Conducting workplace inspections, risk assessments and internal audits.
