We are a fast growing law firm in Melbourne's lovely Doncaster East, Melbourne and we also practice in South Australia and outback NSW. We specialise in all facets of family law, criminal, pro bono human rights and employment law as well as wills/estates. We seek an enthusiastic legal administrative assistant to add to our growing team who is prepared to make a full-time, long term commitment. Above award wages and benefits for the right candidate. Required essential skills are:
-computer literacy, experience in legal practice management software of Smokeball/LEAP
-strong attention to detail, display initiative, accuracy and calendar/file management
-punctuality and reliability including own transport
-ability to work in high stress situation (as it arises) and have a sense of humour
-friendly customer service - we treat our clients as we would wish to be treated
-empathy for clients with different socio-economic or traumatic backgrounds, such as those undergoing separation, Aboriginal Australians and clients in custody.
-be well presented and present a professional image.
Preferred experience:
-knowledge of family law, criminal law and/or employment law preferred
-correspondence to clients, courts, and other parties
-drafting basic Court or other documents
-ability to answer prospective client, basic client/Court/other party questions
-data entry, matter management, billing of clients
-competency in a language other than English is an added bonus!
