Legal Assistant (Commercial Litigation) - Fixed Term Contract

An exciting opportunity is now available in our high performing Commercial Litigation practice group to support one of our partners on a part-time basis in our Melbourne office. This position will be job-sharing with an experienced Legal Assistant and is a fixed-term parental leave cover for an initial 9-month period.
This role will be well suited to a well-organised administrative professional who demonstrates strong communication and teamwork skills and has previous billing experience. Experience and knowledge of litigation processes will be highly regarded.
Key Responsibilities:

• Ability to manage diary appointments and email correspondence
• Preparation of correspondence and court documents
• Compiling and processing of time sheets
• Strong understanding of billing processes
• Assisting with telephone enquiries and ability to develop relationships internally and externally
• Matter management including opening and closing files, archiving, electronic filing and physical filing.

Required skills and experience:

• Experience as a Legal Assistant
• Exceptional organisational and time management skills
• Outstanding attention to detail
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
• High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office (including Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
• Advanced knowledge of CMS Aderant or other finance related software
• Ability to develop and foster excellent professional relationship internally and with clients
