Bis is seeking a qualified Maintenance Planner to join our Karara operation to oversee the workshop crew and to ensure that a preventative maintenance schedule is developed, implemented and adhered to.
The role is based at the Karara site, on a friendly and comfortable 8/6 FIFO roster, reporting to the Site Manager.

Responsibilities:
- Plan and schedule corrective and preventive maintenance activities by task and priority through work orders on the computerised maintenance management system (CMMS);
- Prepare work packages for all planned maintenance activities inclusive of repetitive maintenance;
- Manage work orders, documentation, parts consumed and asset history within the CMMS;
- Obtain parts quotes, raise requisitions and update site registers;
- Manage spare parts and the alignment between the maintenance team and stock on site;
- Raise workorders for regular maintenance works;
- Coordinate and document daily and weekly planning meetings related to regular plant maintenance and shutdown activities;
- Create schedules and Gantt charts for planned shutdowns;
- Coordinate all plant-wide shutdown activities;
- Record and report on availability, downtime and performance on the fixed plant equipment;
- Obtain Supplier quotes for services and schedule site works;
- Manage repairs to machinery and components off site and liaise with relevant internal/external stakeholders;
- Provide technical assistance for supporting entire on-site maintenance activities; and
- Train employees on how to use the CMMS.
About You
- Significant experience in fixed plant repair and maintenance;
- Up to date mechanical knowledge with fixed plant equipment, ideally conveyor belt systems;
- Demonstrated ability to manage people in a maintenance environment;
- Strong written and verbal communication skills;
- Demonstrated ability in the use of a CMMS;
- Demonstrated knowledge of WH&S regulations;
- Ability to prioritise workload to minimise downtime of equipment;
- Significant experience with JD Edwards and MS Project is advantageous;
- Positive, proactive approach to safety;
- Commitment to working as part of a team; and
- Strong work ethic and a commitment to customer service.
