About the role
Located at the City Depot and reporting to the Director Technical Services, the Manager Assets will lead the City’s Assets team and play a strategic role in providing direction and advice in the areas of asset management, transport and development planning, fleet maintenance and waste minimisation.
This role will be responsible for:
- Provision of leadership and guidance to the City Assets employees ensuring effective and professional service delivery;
- Leading the Assets team in the planning and development of municipal asset related infrastructure projects and services, transport, traffic engineering, waste, and parking management in accordance with the annual program objectives;
- Plan and coordinate the City’s Assets resources to develop the annual forward Capital Works Programs, the Long-Term Financial Plan, and Asset Management System.
- Leading and managing a process of continual improvement with an aim to improve overall asset management service delivery City wide; and
- Liaise with the public, elected members, staff, government departments, public utilities and other stakeholders on proposals relating to the City’s Asset Portfolio.
About the successful candidate
The successful candidate will have a tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering or related discipline and/or extensive local government public infrastructure design and transport experience.
Other essential requirements include:
- Highly developed knowledge of asset management, civil engineering, transport planning, traffic engineering, parking demand management, infrastructure management, fleet management and waste management.
- Demonstrated leadership of a multi-disciplined team within the Civil Engineering / Asset Management environment with a minimum of 5 years’ experience.
- Highly developed financial acumen including understanding of financial statements, budgeting, depreciation and modelling with experience in preparing and managing budgets.
- Well-developed knowledge of business systems and models such as project planning and project management skills
What we offer
This position is offered on a maximum term contract of up to 5 years duration.
A remuneration package between $158,213 and $193,441 per annum (inclusive of cash salary and superannuation) is on offer, dependent on skills and experience.
