Sunstate Family Practice has an opportunity for another experienced Medical Receptionist to join our friendly, professional team.  We are seeking a dynamic and efficient Medical Receptionist to support an excellent clinical team.

Sunstate Family Practice offers a professional, caring and relaxed environment in the picturesque Lakeside Shopping Centre at Victoria Point, in walking distance to retail outlets, cafe's and restaurants.   Experienced doctors and nurses provide high-quality care in our progressive, modern facility.

Sunstate is a private practice however, we do offer a smaller gap fee to patients Under 16 years.

Reporting to the Reception Team Leader, you will have an opportunity to be involved with orientating new doctors to the practice in 2024. 

Sunstate is a GP Registrar Training Practice, with supervision led by the practice owner and founder, Dr Andrew Ganter, who established the practice with his wife Helen, in 2009.

We provide comprehensive and continuing, high-quality health care in a state-of-the-art facility. Our modern, spacious practice, has a large staff retreat area upstairs, featuring large windows filtering a wall of natural light.  This area doubles as our conference room where staff meetings are held.  

Our clinical team includes nine doctors, a Chronic Disease Management/Care plan Nurse, three experienced Registered Nurses (treatment room) and a visiting Diabetic Nurse Educator.  Our clinical team is supported by six Reception staff, a Bookkeeper, IT support and an experienced full-time Practice Manager, Administration Manager and Reception Team Leader.

We are passionate about quality and safety and are committed to delivering patient-centered care.  Our doctors are focused on improving patient outcomes by providing a comprehensive and ethical medical service with a minimum appointment length of 15 minutes.   

The practice is fully computerised using Best Practice with Tyro integrated for instant Medicare claiming.  The practice utilises all available electronic and digital technology to increase efficiency and appeal to our tech-savvy patient population, including pre-appointment patient questionnaires to triage patients and manage patient expectations.

Training is provided on-site and is ongoing, with opportunities to attend training relevant to your role off-site as required. Regular team meetings ensure all team members are given an opportunity to clarify procedures and expectations, all team members are provided with a platform to voice concerns in a psychologically safe environment, and all team members are supported to continue to work together towards a common goal to provide exceptional customer service and improved patient outcomes.
 

The successful candidate must possess:

  • Well-developed customer service/interpersonal skills
  • An accountable, positive, and compassionate approach
  • Good problem-solving skills
  • A pro-active approach
  • Good computer skills (Best Practice Software & Microsoft Office Suite experience advantageous)
  • Willingness and capability to learn how to do things differently
  • Reception experience in a health setting

Main duties include:

  • Complex appointment booking
  • Promotion of practice services
  • Database management - scanning, document control
  • Billing, accounts, banking
  • General Administration support

The role would suit an applicant with a mature and confident attitude to complement and enhance our positive team culture. The successful candidate will be available to work approx 4 days a week (30+ hours) in addition to sharing the Saturday morning roster in a casual or permanent position.  Terms are negotiable for the successful candidate!
