Merthyr 7 Day Medical Centre is a doctor owned medical practice located in Merthyr Village Shopping Centre. The practice has been an integral part of New Farm since 1995 and prides itself on continuity of care and a family atmosphere.
We are looking for part-time Receptionist to join our dedicated and friendly team. Our surgery is open 7 days so weekend work is a key part of the role.
The Role
The Receptionist:
- Greets patients, answers the phones and manages patient enquiries
- Books patient appointments and schedules resources such as Practice Nurses and the treatment room
- Bills patients and processes medicare claims
- Administration tasks including mail, scanning, ordering of equipment and filing
- General housekeeping and upkeep of reception area and 8 consulting rooms

You will need
- Enthusiastic, warm and happy personality
- Excellent communication skills and a desire to interact in a positive and pleasant manner with our patients, doctors, nurses and practice manager
- Ability to juggle multiple tasks while still showing excellent attention to detail
- Ability to learn quickly and adjust to a new environment
- Computer skills including experience or Best Practice or a similar patient management system
- Previous experience in Medical Reception highly regarded
