An exciting opportunity for a friendly, reliable and motivated Medical Receptionist for a casual part-time role in a new family owned General Practice in Sunbury. The Practice will be opening in early June 2024. This role will suit someone who would like to work in a small and supportive group practice setting. Requires an enthusiastic, positive, friendly, motivated person with excellent communication & organizational skills and customer care. Our practice fosters a gentle and kind work place culture so we will also be looking for a receptionist with these qualities.
Qualifications & experience
- Excellent phone and customer service manner
- Flexible to cover leave or other staff as needed
- Ability to protect patient privacy and confidentiality
- Basic computer skills. Experience using Best Practice will be given priority
- Ability to prioritize and organize workflow
- Prior experience in a medical office or customer service role will be an added qualification
Tasks & responsibilities
- Greet patients with a warm and welcoming attitude, ensuring a positive experience from the moment they arrive. Able to deal with demanding patients in a calm and courteous manner
- Register new patients
- Schedule and confirm appointments, ensuring accurate and efficient appointment management
- Answer and manage phone calls
- Taking payments and processing Bulk Billing, Workcover/TAC claims
- General admin duties- scanning, faxing, filing, mailing etc.
- Open and close the practice as per set procedure
- General cleaning of the reception area, consultation rooms, treatment room and kitchen. Cleaning when emergency situation arise
- Collaborate with medical staff and other team members to ensure smooth flow and overall office operations
