We are a well-established Orthopaedic practice located within Northern Beaches Hospital at Frenchs Forest. We are seeking an experienced, caring and enthusiastic medical practice Secretary/administrator to join our team 3 days per week (plus cover for sick leave and holidays)
The duties and responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
Running patient clinics – meeting and greeting patients when we are consulting, verifying health fund insurance, and scheduling patient appointments
Handling a very high volume of calls, responding to enquiries (email and phone), and providing exceptional customer service to patients and their families
Collecting and processing patient information, including medical history and other relevant data
Preparing surgical quotations, billings, payments, and receipts
Coordinating patient procedures, managing theatre lists, and coordinating with anaesthetists and assistant surgeons
Liaising with external suppliers such as Private Hospital theatre bookings, pathology, radiology, GPs and other specialist and health service providers as required
General administration including patient accounts, banking procedures, account invoicing and debt collection
Desirable Experience:
Knowledge of Genie software is highly advantageous as are typing skills
Competent in using Microsoft Office software (Excel spreadsheets)
Previous experience as a medical secretary/administration role an advantage
Excellent organizational and time management skills, able to multitask and work under pressure and prioritize tasks
Outstanding phone manner and interpersonal skills dealing with patients, doctors and hospital staff
Professional, warm, welcoming and friendly disposition
Typing skills and accuracy
