Multicultural Bible Ministry Rooty Hill Anglican Church (MBM) exists to see lives transformed through Jesus Christ for the glory of God. Our Membership teams enable our church to ‘do life together well’. Annually, thousands of individuals, many of whom are yet to encounter the love of Christ, visit our 3 (soon to be 4) campuses. Recently, we've experienced significant numerical growth in individuals embracing Christ and making MBM their spiritual home. We're praying for assistance in evangelising, discipling, and integrating people into our Rooty Hill congregations.
The Role
We're searching for an assistant to the Membership Pastor to spearhead the leaders of our Rooty Hill Membership teams, overseeing Connection and Community initiatives (excluding our Care teams). This includes our greeting, welcoming, car park, ushering, refreshments, and events teams. Additionally, you'll play a key role in reaching out to newcomers and organising our Belonging newcomer event. You'll receive ample support and opportunities for personal development within a collaborative team environment.
Responsibilities
- Work on Sundays, in addition to two other days.
- Oversee Connection at Rooty Hill campus:
Ensure prompt contact and follow up of newcomers.
Coordinate our Belonging newcomer event, from participant recruitment to event management, potentially taking an up-front role.
- Oversee Community at Rooty Hill campus:
Provide oversight for morning tea/supper and barista coffee services.
Organize occasional congregation events such a picnic, petting zoo, international lunch etc.

Requirements
Character:
Display traits of faithfulness, humility, teachability, generosity, and servant leadership.
Possess a joyful spirit and a genuine desire to serve the Lord.
Demonstrate initiative while valuing teamwork.
Must hold or be willing to obtain a Working with Children clearance and adhere to the Sydney Anglican code of conduct Faithfulness in Service.
Convictions:
Hold theological convictions that are Reformed, evangelical, and complementarian.
Align with a ministry philosophy that is Gospel-centred, Bible-based, and focused on relationships.
Exhibit a passion for ministry across cultural, social, and age demographics.
Competency:
Theological education is preferred but not essential.
Showcase strong leadership, communication, relational, management, and administrative skills.
Be a team builder capable of working effectively through others.
Possess high Emotional Intelligence to engage effectively with newcomers, Team Leaders, and members, as well as high Cultural Intelligence to navigate the diverse cultural landscape of Western Sydney.
Thrive in a collaborative environment, contributing positively to the Membership staff and broader staff team.
