CAE Australia Flight Training is a leading aviation training provider, dedicated to delivering high-quality training and education to domestic and international students, and is based at Moorabbin Airport in Melbourne.
The Role
We are currently looking for an experienced Operations Controller working full time hours over 4 days a week with one weekend day.
Reporting to a Shift Operations Coordinator, our Operations Controllers are responsible for ensuring that flights are efficiently dispatched ensuring that all company safety and regulatory checks are performed, and ensuring the efficient use of aircraft, people and other resources. Operations Controllers mitigate operational disruption, evaluate options and implement recovery plans considering commercial and operational factors to minimise the impact on our business and our customers.
We operate 7 days per week, and this is a full-time role, involves shift work including early starts and late finishes.
Skills and Experience
We are looking for an organised and efficient person who ideally has experience in the aviation industry, preferably within a Flight Training organisation or within a Flight Operations and/or Ground Operations role. However, we would consider applicants from the broader transport & logistics industry who can demonstrate the key transferable skills essential for this role.
We are looking for an excellent communicator who has a passion for problem solving, a high level of attention to detail, works well under pressure and has a demonstrated commitment to safety. A calm approach towards people in an environment of constantly changing operational requirements is essential. Demonstrated ability to use MS Office and ability to quickly learn to use operations management systems
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure flights are efficiently dispatched and that all company safety and regulatory checks are performed
- Ensure that flight operation systems are maintained accurately and in a timely manner.
- Monitor flights for On Time Performance and reporting any delay reasons
- Implement and monitor the daily operations plan, ensuring the plan is efficiently maintained and adapted where required.
- Provide a high level of customer service to both internal and external stakeholders
- Complete administration tasks relevant to the operations department.
