Container Exchange (COEX) is a not-for-profit organisation created to establish and run the Containers for Change scheme in Queensland. The organisation focuses on reducing container litter, increasing recycling efforts and helping communities benefit through paying refunds to individuals, charities and community groups.
The Role
u&u Recruitment Partners is excited to partner with COEX to recruit the newly created role of Operations Manager - Southeast QLD. Reporting to the Executive General Manager - Network Delivery, the position is responsible for leading a team of Regional Managers who support COEX's operator network throughout the Southeast QLD region.
More specifically, you will be involved in the following;
- Providing a high level of leadership and proactively building a high-performance culture in line with COEX's values;
- Developing and implementing strategies to optimise growth, network performance, maximise customer satisfaction and promote environmentally responsible practices;
- Leading the development and implementation of a key account management framework, which includes tailored strategic plans for individual accounts;
- Overseeing operator contracts and ensuring each sites adherence to legislation and contractual requirements;
- Overseeing budgets, financial reporting and providing regular reports on network performance to the executive team; and
- Working with COEX's Legal & Risk team to manage safety and legislative risks throughout the network.
To be considered for this role, you will have:

- Five plus years' experience in a similar level, operational leadership role, overseeing teams and multi-site operations;
- Proven ability to coach and mentor staff and create a high performance and cohesive culture;
- Demonstrated ability to drive operational excellence, whilst overseeing process improvement initiatives;
- A professional, engaging style with strong problem solving, relationship management and influencing skills;
- Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to engage with stakeholders from shop floor to board room;
- Strong analysing skills with the ability to interpret operational data and KPI's to make informed decisions;
- Sound financial skills including an understanding of operational cost management and budgeting; and
- Qualifications in Operations Management, Logistics Management, or a related field (preferred).
