About Us: Habitat for Humanity is a global not-for-profit organisation dedicated to providing housing for low-income families in need. In South Australia, Habitat for Humanity has assisted 39 partner families into their own homes. We offers various services including volunteer programs, disaster recovery assistance, housing construction, and ReStore, our social enterprise supporting our mission. We collaborate with community and social housing providers to ensure everyone has a safe and decent place to live.
Position: Part time Operations Support Coordinator
18hrs over 3 days per week - $33/hour
Responsibilities:
- Engage with corporate and community groups, volunteers, and suppliers.
- Coordinate volunteer activities and program delivery.
- Maintain volunteer/supporter database and communication channels.
- Prepare communication collateral and conduct presentations.
- Plan, coordinate, and promote functions and events.
- Prepare written updates and reports for stakeholders.
- Handle general administration tasks.
Role Overview: The Operations Coordinator plays a pivotal role in managing daily logistics, providing administrative support, facilitating human resource functions, and organizing events. This role requires exceptional organizational skills, stakeholder engagement, and the ability to work autonomously.
Essential Selection Criteria:
- Effective planning and execution skills.
- Excellent organization and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills (written, verbal, presentation).
- Experience in volunteer management and liaising with partner organizations.
- Motivated, with a strong work ethic and ability to work independently and in a team.
Other Requirements:
- Adherence to ethical obligations, including beneficiary safeguarding.
- Clear criminal record and current Working with Children Check.
- Compliance with HFHSA's Code of Conduct and policies.
- A current South Australian driver’s license is highly desirable.
Decision Making: The Operations Coordinator works under the direction of the Executive Officer but exercises moderate discretion in setting work priorities, liaising with stakeholders, and supporting volunteers.
