SalaryOn behalf of Depot Café a family-owned café/restaurant that has been serving the local Bondi community for over 15 years based in the Bondi Beach, NSW 2026 area, we are conducting a search for a dedicated and skilled Head pastry Chef.
Current Opening:
This opportunity is a full-time position (38 hours per week).
Position Responsibilities and Tasks
- Prepare a wide variety of goods such as pastries, bread etc. following traditional and modern recipes
- Operating and managing the pastry section of the kitchen and liaising with the executive and sous chefs to ensure a successful working environment
- Create new and exciting desserts to renew our menus and engage the interest of customers
- Decorate pastries using different icings, toppings etc. to ensure the presentation will be beautiful and exciting
- Training & mentoring of junior staff
- Monitor stocks for baking ingredients such as flour, sugar etc. and communicate ordering requirements
- Check quality of material and condition of equipment and devices used for cooking
- Maintain a clean and orderly section and adhere to health and safety standards
- Ability to work autonomously and within a team to learn
Qualifications and Skills:
- At least 2 years working experiences;
- Relevant qualification;
- attention to detail and creativity
- In depth knowledge of sanitisation principles, food preparation and baking techniques.
Salary:
The role offers a remuneration package ranging from $70,000, plus superannuation for a 38-hour work week.
